Smile Nortons Internet Security

Hi
If you can help me resolve this issue, I will be eternally grateful.
I have Internet Security 2006 installed on XP Home .
I have tried every conceivable combination to try to access the Internet, but to no avail.
If I have Internet Security activated ,I cannot get onto the Internet. The only way to access the Internet is to disable the Firewall
This is obviously defeating the point of having a Firewall, but when desperate------
Can anyone please tell me how to set this Firewall to allow me access to the Internet. I also have Zone Alarm Pro installed. This appears not to be the problem
Many thanks

I beg to differ, I'm afraid. It is neither necessary, nor advisable to run two firewall programs at once.
I would choose one or the other (Zone Alarm for my choice) and uninstall the other. the reason you probably cannot get on with both running --is that they are conflicting with each other. One's blocking the other from allowing the connection. Firewalls don't get along with each other. At all.

In fact --it may be advisable to uninstall BOTH of them, decide which you want to keep-- and then reinstall that one only. If you got the Norton product for it's antivirus component-- then that's all you need. Not the whole thing.

Default Norton's Internet Security

Thank you for your reply and advise given.
The ONLY reason I mentioned that I had Zone Alarm Pro installed, was to give as much information as posssible relevant to the question I asked.
I agree that only one Firewall should suffice.
