Default Connecting 2 Routers

Here's the story..

I got two routers first off: A Dl-524, and a WGR614 v.4 (both wireless).

The Dl-524 and the Modem are both upstairs, and the Dl-524 is connected to one of the computers (PC1), I have an RJ-45 wire (from the Dl-524) that comes downstairs, into the WGR614, and then into PC2.

The reason I have another router at PC2 instead of the long RJ-45 going directly into PC2 is because I want a more powerful wireless connection for the other downstairs laptops; (they cannot reach the upstairs signal so I'm putting a router downstairs = stronger signal).

How am I going to configure them to work? IPs, which router hubs, DNS, DHCP?

Hi Duji

Welcome back to PCHF

To be honest Networking is not my forte, however if you would be so kind as to hold on for a short while one of our Technical Team will give you a hand on this.
