Network Help - no internet ! posted in the Web & Networking forums; hi just set up my wireless stuff,everything went swimmingly until i tried to connect to the internet i got "internet not found" and on my router there is a red ...

hi just set up my wireless stuff,everything went swimmingly until i tried to connect to the internet i got "internet not found" and on my router there is a red light on next to the internet.
i have a linksys wireless -g router adsl gateway with speedbooster
i used the one touch setup button.
wireless is working it recognises my adaptor.
any help would be magical !

try checking your tcp/ip setting, and make sure an ip is assigned. If so, try assining an static ip address.

assuming ur on window xp here's a good tutorial for confirming the settings.

TCP/IP Setup for WinXP

i am on xp and i now know my ip address where do i go to make ip address static.
good fun this.

Hey there ,


if your IP address is not static, you'll have to phone up your Internet Service provider and ask if they can make your IP static, not all ISP's will do it and they may charge you for it.
