Who is your ISP? might not have to waste time being on hold if i already know the answer to that question.
Although I do believe it's unlikely due to the fact hat the other computers work fine over the same internet connection.

Is this computer slower over the network then the others? ie. while copying files....or exactly the same speed?

I'm pretty sure Optus piggy back on Telstra's lines. It might be worth giving them a call just to be safe (Optus).

But in regards to this computer of yours...it's an interesting one...give me a bit, I'll see what I can dig up. What state are you located in btw?

Try the network cable. I know it's mostly working, but I've seen stranger things (a network cable that would transfer files, but not play games). Now it plays games but won't transfer files hhehehe.

Anyway, try swapping the network cable out, and tell me what happens.
