Default [Fixed] Network printer query

Hi PCHelp again

I have networked two comps with success, I am able to share folders etc,the only thing is, I can not print from my secondary comp ( printer is attached to primary comp.

When I try to print a letter it comes up with the save as Box,all i do is duplicate the document.

I have ticked all the right boxes etc I am able to print from my primary comp, at one stage it told me divers where not found, i loaded the drivers into the prim comp as well as the sec comp,it made no difference.
I have since deleted the drivers from secondary comp.

Comp specs are as:

Primary comp
Pent 4
3.0GHz
512 DDR
80Gb HD
Windows XP Home

Sec Comp
Intel Celeron CPU 2.8GHz
256 DDR
80GB HD
Windows XP Home

Both Comps are networked by cable as follows:modem to router, router to both comps.

Thankyou for any clues on this one

Hey cartandpeg!

Go into Control panel, and under Printers, there's a wizard New printer (or Add new printer, something likely).
Follow the instructions to install a Network printer

Would this be done on the secondary comp or both, dumb question I suppose, its just I had major probs with networking one time and I dont want to create something like that again . PS Its all okay I have been able to print from the sec comp,so this is resolved Thankyou again..

Ok thankyou kindly.

Hey Cartandpeg!

It has to be done on the computer(s) that has/have no printer connected to it.

So I'm marking this thread as fixed right?
