hi, im having probs opening certain icons on my desktop,i can open them by rigt clicking only, double clicking doesnt work??? im also having annoying issues online, take msn messanger for eg, i can get into it but if i want to check my emails just clicking on the email icon wont direct me there, the same happens with inernet banking ie after entering security codes and pressing continue nothing happens?? and also ebay....i have just defraged the system and installed a wireless router, any ideas how i can mke everything work properley again?? thanks folks

You defragged and installed the router and the problems started straight after that? Did you change any security or other settings , for the internet and/or windows?

And have you checked the security settings of the router?

Also what is youre O.S.?

hi mate, yeh it seemed that prbs started soon after that, i really cant see that defraging would cause any probs??? i had to change some internet settings for the router such as selecting interet protocol, i then had to go into properties and was then asked to obtain an ip address automatically????its all really confusing to me! i wondered if filters might have anything to do with it? whats an o.s?? joe5

O.S. is "Operating System". And it sounds like something went wrong setting up the router i think. I'll move this to the network forum , im sure someone can help you there.
