All the other computers work, except mine:

I cannot reach any computers with \\[computer name] except myself and when other computer try to access me it says "\\Geforc3 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource....."

My computer does have full network access and internet works fine. It is in the same workgroup as the rest, and it is listed there from other computers, but I can't access it myself, it will give the same error box except it will say "Workgroup is not accessible. You might......"

I havent set up anything that would restrict people from reaching my computer. I can use ftp to transfer files but its driving me mad now.

Hi Ge64!

Have you turned on File- and Printsharing on that PC, using the wizard Network configuration?

Blue

Red face Guest accounts..

Thanks Bluefish

Hi Ge64

Do the other PCs have their guest accounts enabled? Guest accounts are best left disabled for security reasons. Now that you're working try disabling them, check the workgroup names are the same and restart the PCs and see if it still works, I've had this before and once I enabled then disabled and restarted the PCs they talked OK! Is there an XP Pro/home mix in here?

If it all goes wrong then you can put it back, but let us know as I'd like to get this working propery for you.

Gromit
