Ok... I need more help with this Network Setup.
First I will explain...
The
1st computer
(connected to a Cable Modem) is on the main floor of the house. It's a Windows 98 and really old. The
2nd computer
is in the basement, wirelessly connected and Windows XP. The 3rd is a
laptop
also wirelessly connected.
Everything is up and running on the internet. Connections are good.
I set up the network for computers 2 and the laptop. Making sure the WorkGroup names are identical and they each have an individual name. Then rebooted the computers.
Everything seemed to work well except when I ran the wizard it asked me to check a box to "ignore the unplugged network devices..." or something like that. Was there a problem I am missing?
I was able to share the documents created in the Laptop with the Computer #2, but I wasn't able to do the same in reverse direction. I want to make sure that I can share the files on Computer #2 with the laptop. But the Computer #2 wasn't showing up on the laptop in the Network Places. Also, I wanted to share the printer from Computer #2 with the laptop but was unable to add that either. (not sure if you can when it's not the host computer). I was a little baffled on this and decided to turn to you for some advice.
Also, any ideas on this...???
The same person wants to share his business files through "quickBooks" between his Laptop and PC. If I make quickBooks a shared file with writing capabilites, is that possible?
Thanks,
Jen
PS. What does a "Bronze Member" stand for?
