Default You could try the following...

Sounds like your security settings may be causing the issues here as you can ping both PC's from eachother.

Some things for you to try which won't cause you any havock or break anything:
  • Make sure that the "everyone" group has access to your share on the AA PC (in the Security Tab if available)
  • Are both PC's formatted using NTFS? (Just in case don't try formatting youe HDD's without further help from the PCHF team :angel5: unless you know what you're doing)
  • Make sure you're logging onto both PC's with user accounts which have passwords - if not then create them. You can sometimes have issues trying to use shares when you're not logged on with a password secured account.
  • Map a drive using specified credentials. Map any letter to \\AA\SHRD (your share name). Click - "Connect using a different user name" then type in the admin a/c name and password for the AA pc (eg - \\aa\administrator) then the password.

Hope that all helps if any of the above doesn't make sense please ask for more info..

Good luck!

Default That Did It!

Grommit

Mapping a drive (something I had not tried before) with "connect using a different user name" did the trick. Then I could Browse the shares from the Map Drive dialog box. Once I mapped one share then it must have set everything off. After that power down/up did not matter. Burrowing down thru My Network Places seemed to work.

Thanks. You saved my ****.
