Default [RESOLVED] LAN cuts out

I am using a plug and play LAN/Ethernet card and an external cable modem for internet connection. but every 2 or 3 muinites or so it cus out for a second and it says LAN cable unplugged. I have replaced the card and the cable but it didnt fix it. The modem doesnt give any signs of a problem. I dont know what else it could be. My os is XP sp1, I dont know any other info that could be helpful.
Thanks

Hi Rockgitarplaya,

Was this something that just started or is it something that has been going on since the beginning?

Other than not upgrading to SP2, are you completely updated?

Have you unplugged the modem, let it sit for a full 2 minutes and plug it back in?

Are you on a LAN? If so are the other computers experiencing the same issue?

Have you contacted your ISP to determine if they are having glitches?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN
