Question Laptop is trying to get away from us...

Well we have a small network of 2 desktop computers (one is like 5 years old and the other is brand-spanking new) and we recently bought a laptop and immediatly switched to a half wired half wireless network sicne the laptop is upstairs and is on wireless. The Network worked fine with all 3 computers until I decided to format the real old computer so it wouldn't be so slow anymore and when I reset the Network the laptop suddenly stopped responding to the Network and is totaly independent from it. All it does is steal our internet connection, we can't print from it nor can it access any of the 2 desktops though we can access the laptop from them. I updated the printer drivers and even installed them on the laptop and re-installed the network on all 3 computers like I did the first time when it worked and nothing has changed. I'm not really a network n00b so I'm really puzzled by this. I also tried running a wire to it and still no-go.
The printer is connected to the old computer since we have like 8 USB 2.0 ports on it and it's practicaly always on as it's got a low energy consumption.
So yea... It's getting rather annoying as whenever we need to print or transfer files we have to constantly switch between the upstairs laptop and one of the downstairs desktops...

I'm guessing from the lack of input that:
a) My problem doesn't make sense
b) You guys don't know what the hell I'm talking about
c) No-one cares
d) All of the above
e) No comment

This post must have slipped thru the 'net...it's not personal DL

When you re-built the "main" PC did you add in the main username that exists on the laptop? If you want to be able to "see" the laptop and share data, you must have a common user on both the laptop AND the main PC..with the same password.

Well all I did was re-create the same usernames as it used to have along with the same password, so I'm guessing it's not that, it's really *****
