I have a Ubee DDW3611 modem/router combo from my cable provider, but I downgraded my internet service to save money and they warned me that the wireless capability would go away. When I asked if I could hook up my own router, the technician assured me that it would work. I have a D Link DIR-601, but when I hook it up (Ubee "LAN1" port to DLINK "Internet" port) my Laptop doesn't sense it. When I plug the DLINK end into LAN1 instead of Internet, my laptop senses it and says "Internet Access", but won't load any webpages.

My internet works when I use an ethernet cable and the Ubee. Is the Ubee's router function disabling my ability to use the D-Link? When I type the D-Link IP address into my browser, the Ubee info comes up:

    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Do you have to set up login details on the router or is that done on the modem? It sound like the router and modem both have the same ip you may need to change the routers ip. if you remove the router from the modem then type in the routers ip do you get the router page?

Make sure the ethernet cable goes from the modem to the router input labeled "Internet" and your computer ethernet cable goes to one of the router interfaces labeled 1 through 4..

Next, remove power from the modem and router, wait about a minute, then apply modem power, wait about a minute, then apply power to your router...after about a minute reboot your computer...

This procedure sequence will make sure all devices have the correct address and IP settings...(make sure all devices use DHCP protocol)..
