You will need a network card in both PCs

yep got one in each, only want two computers in the network will i need a hub.

No...you use the cross-over cable as said b4. Although if you want to use an ethernet modem then yes

that mayb where we are going wrong, so u cant use a rj45 cable to join the 2 computers up throught ethernet adaptors.

Yes - an RJ45 "Cross-Over" cable - available at any good PC store.

i'm getting really confussed, u said i need a hub for a ethernet network now ur saying i just need the crossover cable which i told you i already have, am i just beening a div.
