fintan,

Have you tried deleting them from Device Manager and rebooting? Then when you reboot they will be reacquired and installed.

Hi They are devices that are not install or configure......removing and reboot wont always work try that first and if they come good great it not we will need the PC make/model to show you where to get the drivers.

GA are we fixing or teaching lol

Hi, All drives for your mother board are Search for drivers - Softpedia and should help you. (if that link doesn't work, it might come back with nothing, just put your motherboards name in the search box).
NOTE, you only need the sound ones that have the version of the OS you're on (unless you have more ! in Device manager), you can check this in my computer in XP or computer in Vista. whatever OS you have right click computer/my computer on the start bar, then pick properties, hardware, device manager.

Please delete (with the Delete key) the Serial device.

Are you up to date with your Windows Update?
