Freeware app CodecInstaller searches your computer for commonly used codecs and displays which codecs you have installed and which codecs you need. CodecInstaller can even download and install missing codecs. Additionally, you can point CodecInstaller at a specific file and CodecInstaller will tell you exactly which codecs you need to play the file.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Operating System: Windows 98 - ME - NT 4(service pack5) - 2000 - WindowsXP - Windows Vista

Libraries: you'll need the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, freely downloadable from Microsoft.com site

NOTICE:
When running the program, click on the Install Codecs button.
Another window will open.
In the Common codecs pane, click on each codecs listed one at a time.
At the bottom of the window, there are three indicators what will tell you if the codecs you clicked on is Available, Installed or Updated.
