The postid option is sort of a anchor option. An anchor (html) is a marker you place in the text. So you can link to those parts in the document

That would have been me. :smiley:

I don't know how to make links to the middle of a post for instance but if you look at the right top corner of each post then you'll see a number #23 , you can rightclick on that to make a shortcut to that post.

And that's the difference between anchors and using postid's. You can place an anchor anywhere in the post using html and refer to that anchor. But this is a nice solution, thanks

You cannot place anchors in these forums, because HTML is not parsed in posts.

@Joe: What he is referring to is the use of the HTML anchor tag <a> to add the ability to jump around in a single post by use of HTML markup such as the following: <a name="section1">.
