Default Trouble with sound on a Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L

Hey everyone. I have just built a new computer for the first time using the Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L motherboard. I thought when I bought it it had integrated sound, and it does seem to have sound ports, and on the manufacturers website it says it has intel HD audio. However, when I run dxdiag on my computer, it cannot find any sound devices or drivers, even though I have fully working speakers attached to the right port. I am fairly certain everything within the computer is hooked up correctly, but I still cannot get it to work can anyone give me a reason to this problem, and even better would be a solution. Thanks

Hi and welcome telstar

Do you have any exclamation marks in device manager?

No, none at all (do you mean under all the drop down bits?)

..and you have installed all of the chipset drivers?

Do you have a speaker icon next to the clock on the taskbar?

Also, i have no idea whether this is a complete coincidence or is of some significance, but when I first installed windows 7 (the release candidate) the sound worked for a few days before it stopped working. Also, at the same time Rome tw which i had installed stop working to. I cant trace what software installation may have caused this as i was doing many at the time. like i said, this may be completely meaningless

..and if you double-click on the sound icon, do you see anything muted in there?
