I just got a GTX 280 and it doesnt seem to be working, making some weird beeping noise that the manual says is faulty...on some tech forums they say I should update my BIOS and see what happens then. I'm struggling to find one that matches it, here's the name of it:

nForce 680i SLI motherboard.

I believe the motherboard was made by EVGA, I remember seeing a manual for it somewhere. I've tried updating the bios through the flash uploader in system update on nvidia control panel and using the .bin files that are on the site, but it says there's a mis-match.

I would be taking it back to where ever I purchased it form. Explain the problem and ask for a refund or replacement.

DO NOT flash the boards BIOS as then they will say you stuffed it up, and will give you no refund / replacement...

My BIOS is pretty outdated though, here's a pic of what it says on the NVIDIA Control Panel:


Isn't it possible that could be the problem with why the computer beeps when the card is inserted?

Update: According to a few programs I tried, EVGA doesnt do the BIOS, even if it is the card manufacturer, I found this:



Worrying thing is to download that bios update I need to pay $25!
