Motherboards - GA-MA78GM-S2H vista ultimate 64 wont install at al posted in the Hardware forums; I was trying to rule out a hardware issue. Maybe a disk cleaner on the drive may help the issue....

I was trying to rule out a hardware issue.

Maybe a disk cleaner on the drive may help the issue.

i kinda doubt it's the dvd drive or disks...any other ideas?

i guess infinitely long. i have left it for 20 minutes with no change. also, tested it with a different dvd drive. no change

Is this a new hard drive you are trying to install Vista on?

Is it SATA or IDE?

It's a brand new drive. OS independent problem. Returning the motherboard. Thanks for the help.
