Default trouble with p5b

I've had a q6600/650i sli configuration for a few moths, however due to known overclocking isues between this hardware I decided to swap the motherboard for a asus p5b. So my system specs:

p5b (standard one)
q6600 g0 + zalman 9700
8800gt
chieftec 500W
2x 1 gig ddr 800
4x WD caviar sata 320gb

Here is my problem. Whenever I change anything in the bios settings (even lower mhz than stock) the system won't restart normaly when I hit f10. Instead of a normal reset, the pc wil shut down, stay off for around 1 sec, then will power on again for 0,5 sec and then it stays on an boots.

This combo (p5b/q6600) should work briljantly, what's going wrong?

Hi ivanhoe87 and welcome to PCHF

I also have a P5B variant (P5B-E) and I have overclocked my E6300 in it, I get the same issue as you. It only seems to happen with some motherboards, but as far as I know there is no cure for it yet. The reason for the PC turning off is it has to re-sync the CPU or BIOS settings before it loads. CPU at default clock and settings works for me.

Sorry I don't know of a fix but I will let you know if I ever find one.
