Default Faulty MB or Video card??

I am having a big problem with a new system I built & need some advice My specs are:

Intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.40g
MEM 2Gx2|OCZ OCZ2P10664GK R
MB ASUS P5K PRO 775 P35 RT
VGA VISIONTEK 900241 HD4850 512M Video Card
750 Watt modular power supply, crossfire ready (Replaced one already!!)

I hooked everything up. I hit the power button, and the fans on the video card and processor, make about one turn, and then the system & pwr supply shuts off. If I take the video card out of the system, and hit the power button, it comes instantly on just fine, as I can see all fans running and hear the HD trying to boot... I can't figure this one out I have checked to ensure all connections are indeed correct. The MB does NOT have onboard video either... I would appreciate any assistance!

Hey lookn4me, welcome to PCHF.

I think you might have well answered your own question here. If it starts up without the video card, then this is where the problem will be.

However, before you RMA, can you just make sure that there is power connected to the 6pin molex connector at the back of the card?

I plugged the power cable labeled "PCI-E" into it, and also tried with an adapter taking it from 2 normal power plugs into a 6-pin thats plugs in it...

...and it still didn't work?

If you have your onboard PC Speaker connected up, it should also point you to a VGA problem, unless it's a short in which case it may not even beep at all. On a normal boot operation, it will beep once.

I can't see anything else that would cause this problem to be honest Lookn4me, 750watt is more than ample for all the hardware you have there. The hardware is compatible. I guess there is a small possibility that this may be the actual PCI-E slot, but it's much more likely to be the actual card. Plus, your not going to really find out without testing another PCI-E card in that slot.

EDIT: Marked as Answered
