Default Necessary to update bios with new processor?

About to install a X2 4800 939 socket processor into a KN1 Extreme motherboard (upgrading from 3500 single core) Is it worth updating the bios before attempting this, or should I simply flash the bios after installing new processor?

I've checked the latest bios update at the ECS website and it states "support Dual Core 3800" and the rather vague "Dual Core CPU Support" so I assume my new processor will be ok.

But what's the likely scenarios I'm likely to encounter upon boot up after the new chip installation? Will the Mboard refuse to recognise new processor without bios flash, or will I just be able to update bios using WinFlash after boot-up? I'd rather not have to boot from A: drive with new bios on floppy as this sounds a bit tricky. Anyone got any advice whose been in a similar situation?

Hey man hows it going? Im pretty sure your processor will work. I did some research while waiting for an answer to my question and it will work flashing the motherboard will not be nessecery unless you crash. In my system now I was running a AMD 3800+ and upgraded to a 5000+ Black edition. I was afraid of the same thing but the only thing i had to do was worked on XP and convining customer support about verifing a new processor for the install... If your motherboard is specced for it sure go for it...If you have a problem let us know after that Im sure we can figure it out.
Good Luck and God Bless
