Unhappy Windows won't load :(

Ok so here's the deal, The PC I've been using is a MSI K8NGM2 M/B, AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPU, Transcend 1GB DDR400 RAM Sticks x 2, ASUS 8600GT Magic GFX Card, 120GB IDE Hard Drive. Recently I purchased a ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE M/B, for it's way better O/C features and the SLI compatibilty. So I swap everything from the MSI M/B to the ASUS and start it up, POSTS fine, goes through BIOS then whenever it gets to the windows loading screen it restarts itself. I have tried reformatting and it will load the Windows Files then restart itself again. I have also tried using my blank 500GB SATA II Hard drive but does the same thing when trying to formatt it. I have replaced all the hardware back in the MSI board and it works fine. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the ASUS M/B working properly ????

Do you have built-in Graphics card in new mother board. Try desabling those stuffs (Graphics, sound, ethernet)

Are you using Master/Recovery CD's??? If so you need a Retail copy of Windows for a new MOBO genrally if the MCD's don't want to play ball... Or if you can download drivers for your new M/B and install them to your current W/OS and try switching M/B again....

Hope this helps...

It has built in sound and ethernet, but not a integrated Graphics chipset.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate on one harddrive, another is blank. I tried doing a clean install of XP on the blank Sata II harddrive aswell as the 120GB IDE but always after loading setup files it restarts its self. I will try installing the ASUS drivers like you said and see if that works. Thanks.

Disconnect one of those hard drives.

Use the newer one to install windows the other may need CHKDSK.

I have done that, tried to do a clean install on both hard drives with only the one hooked up at a time. Both harddrives work fine on the MSI M/B.

Did you hit F6 during install?

Is this a copy disk you are using?
