It's a genuine Windows XP OS Disk I'm using, and I have a copied disk of the ASUS drivers, but it just keeps resetting itself before I can do anything. I'm gonna try do a clean install of XP with the ASUS drivers using the MSI M/B, then swap everything to the ASUS M/B see if that works. Won't be today though got my son's bday party in a couple hours. I will keep yall posted after I try it, appreciate the ideas and suggestions

Sounds like a bios config problem to me. Make sure correct drive is set as primary hard drive and if you are using sata you set it as ide in bios and not as raid

Tried everything and still no luck. One time i got a Blue Screen with the message along the lines of - IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. Apart from that just the constant resetting when it gets to the loading windows part. If I try to reformat/reinstall it will load the setup files, Get to the screen where you can either install XP or repair it, then once I choose an option it just hangs on the Please wait..... screen when it should take me to the license agreement page. I'm stumped.

Try removing all ram except for 1 stick - then try to reinstall Windows.

It may be an idea to reformat whichever drive you want to install it on again though, considering the failed installs. To do this at the first Setup screen press R - to repair system using Recovery Console.

You may get prompted to select the operating system if so it's usually 1. Administrator password should be blank if you haven't successfully installed yet.

At the prompt type: format c: /q/fs:ntfs

After it has finished reinstall Windows as per normal, with only the 1 stick of ram. If it installs successfully you can put the other ram back in afterwards.

I have tried with just 1 stick of RAM, I can get to the 1st Windows setup screen which has press "ENTER" to install Windows, press "R" to repair. No matter what I press it either hangs or resets itself.

One odd thing I just noticed, If I put the two RAM sticks in the dual channel mode they recommend i.e: Stick 1 in SLot A1, stick 2 in slot B2, it just hangs at the very 1st screen that comes up where you hit delete to enter BIOS setup. But if I put both them in Slot A1 and A2 it's fine. Also with 1 stick it's fine. Could the M/B perhaps be faulty? I might have to bite the bullet and take it all in to a repair shop see what they can do

You need to press R to Enter Recovery Console at very first screen - not Press Enter to setup. The screen you described is the second screen. You could try deleting all the partitions and then installing, but I'd format in Recovery Console first.

It is possible that the motherboard is faulty. Try doing what I said above then putting in second ram strip after Windows installs if you can get it to install. Otherwise take the motherboard back and get a new one.

If it's freezing at BIOS setup screen - you may need to configure the ram, refer to your motherboard manual.
