hi guys, hopefully you can help me with this one.
i was browsing the net with firefox when suddenly it crash. then my pc restart and it boot up well but whenever i conect to the internet it restarts all the time. i was able to scan my computer with kaspersky and there were no virus detected. my last resort is to used the repair console of the windows xp. while i was running chkdsk with one of my hard drive it suddenly died. as in the screen just went black. so i have to restart the pc but this is no good. the fan is workng and im pretty sure that it is not a psu problem. there were no display on the screen, i could not even reach the POST because the screen is totally black, no signs of life.
im running on pentium 4
asrock motherboard prescott 800
1gb of RAM
2 hard disk of 160gb
windows xp sp 2
asus video card

help please

Hi Welcome to PCHF...I have removed your other thread on this same problem.
Double-posting delays help.
You have no display at all?
Have you tried booting in Safemode ?
Do you have a full-version of the XP CD? You could try a "repair install".

yes as in no dispay at all. or sometimes i could see something on the screen but the pc would then restart. a 3 long beeps would mean RAM failure?

Different BIOS' have different beep codes...

its motherboard is asrock prescott 800, does it help for the beep codes? tnx

hi, i was able to get through bios but while i was browsing the bios itself my pc freeze and i nid to restart it. as soon as i restrted the pc i wasnt able start my pc, there were no display at all. i was having 3 long beeps. its bios is AMI. do you think i nid to replace my motherboard

RAM is bad,remove each stick and test individualy via reboot with one stick RAM in at a time.

Remove first stick replace with next reboot.
