thanks, well im wanting to get new ram of speed of 1066mhz but my motherboard only supports 800mhz, but id rather not buy a new motherboard, so i wondering if the "supported" speed could be raised. i would use rate this post to disagree with you, but you would loose reputation points - dont think people like me since i commented on the rate this post feature, i said it was not simple enough and was unfair, you may remember hengis got pretty mad lol. ironic.

Hi Derek,

If you look at Asus website your motherboard does support 1066mhz ram.

In case 1066MHz does refer to the FSB (I haven't checked out the link), and you are 'stuck' with 800MHz RAM, have you thought about overclocking what you already have??

I can run the Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 RAM in one of my computers @ 1000MHz if I bump up the voltage a tad (1.8v to 2.1v) and loosen the timings from 4-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-15 (or 18, can't remember). At that speed the RAM is slightly warm to the touch, but nowhere near hot.
