Ok here is the deal.

i got a Radeon HD 2600
plugged it in, was broken, gave me problems.
i tried another HD 2600, same thing.

During all this i updated my Bios on my Asus P5VDC-MX motherboard.
it was about 14 months old. i updated it yesterday.

NOW...

the pc takes 10plus minutes to boot !
once its booted im fine. but its the same length of time be it i start from cold or reboot.


Windows xp pro service pack 2
1.5 gig ddr 2
Pentium D processor 805 plus

this is going to be the death of me...

basically, I THINK that i have knackered my bios.

and now im stuck, and using my partners 1934 laptop

any advice people ?

Hello Gaff, welcome to PCHF.

Reset the BIOS, by either using the reset switch onboard the motherboard, or by removing the battery for approx 30 seconds.
