Well im back and the problem here is when i was building my pc , the motherboard and all the componesnts are all in the case, but when i swicht it on the first time , it comes with the message : ''Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device'', thing is that i swiched it on for the FIRST time and there was no post test or bios config please help im baffeled/

Hello,well lets see whats happening.
This is a brand new build?
Ok you have connected 24 pin power supply and the seprate 4 pin power supply to mainboard located left of the CPU?
Does this computer power up?
Are all the fans spinning?
Do your CD/DVD rom drives seem to get power?
Check all connections are correct.


If yes?

Try this:
Power off computer now turn on and quickly insert operating install disk see if it starts to install the OS.

If you are using a USB keyboard/mouse can you use a PS2 set?

yes it powers on, fans spinning, dvd-drive lights flickering, however the harddrive lights do not flicker i have correctly placed them on the board.

the MoBo is brand new.

edit: something else i should say, the board from maplin was on display since it was the last one, it is was behind glass, and they carefully inserted it into the box - i saw it.

They siad it was just display no modifications or installaions have been made on it.

Have you installed an operating system yet? it sounds like you computer is looking for one.

Ok the HDD does not power on could be dud HDD.

But could you explain your setup for your hard drives and CD/DVD rom drives and how they are setup as in cables IDE/SATA if IDE are the hard drives on seprate cable to CD/DVD roms etc?

Are the jumpers set correctly on the CD/DVD rom drives and hard drives?As in master/slave?

Ok now one more thing,I would not of bought that mainboard as it was taken out of its antistatic plastic protective covering,gathering dust.This certainly be a mainboard problem but not sure at this time.

Are you sure your GPU is connected correctly and fully seated?

Again as I and joeyfine said we think you need to install an operting system then update your BIOS and drivers.

well, i,ve solved my problem and thanks for helping guys, the problem was the dvd-drive ide cable was un-pluged, still the same message came up, so when it started up the post teat came and then i quickly pressed del, it booted into bios config.

Then i switched the boot deivce to dvd-rw drive and then harddive then dvd-drive , because on defalut it was swtiched to a floppy drive which i didnt have but the problem's solved thanks again.

I just have to get A copy XP, NOT BLOODY VISTA , GOD I HATE YOU VISTA.
