Belive me I could not even turn a computer on just over two years ago.So I have acomplished a lot in this time.

Here is my new build:http://www.pchelpforum.com/computer-...-finished.html

I built it a few weeks ago.She now has Vista Ultimate 64 bit installed and dual Dell 19 inch wide screens.

She booted first time I was proud of myself to so yes it is WOW I did this.It is not I could not build this computer but that it was my baby I was building for ME.All myne. Not for other people.

I have 4 gig RAM in myne but I fitted this as I knew I was having Vista Ultimate 64 bit.I dont game so my GPU does me fine but proberly upgrade in time so I have twin DVI.

I am so glad and proud that you researched this first many do not they just think mmm that will fit were the hammer I will knock it into place lol.

You started correctly you studied how to and what is compatable I wish more would take a leaf out of your book and do some learning.

So I understand how proud you are of your achivement.I am proud of mine.

In time when you can afford it though I would put another gig in there but 1 gig is fine for now.Edit:Oh you have 2x1 gig sticks of RAM?Fit both in there XP can see 3.25 gig RAM.

So very very well done.

PS:I am a miss!!!

1. such a beautiful pc! and nice thread, but i wanna see the pc running in pitch dark? (too see its neon beauty). And did u built it on the carpet? :s dangerouse, i was touchin my radiator every 5th minute to avoid "static electricity"

2. Mine didn't boot first time. i had forgotten to put in the 12v thingy (due with my psu i had to cut a 8pins into the 4 pin thing) so after like 30 minutes of panic i noticed it.

3. looking after the parts is a half the pleasure. the other half is to see its preformence on games.

4. Wow! i had no idea. cool! pchf has girl(s) that understands the charm of hardware! I could never ever imagine a girl building a rig on her own, thats just out of the possibilitys of humanity! hHaha.

You should check out some of the other DIY threads to see what others built.

Carpet?Sort of.I opened stuff up on carpet like case power supply etc but actualy built her on my huge coffee table.More light from main window to see what I was doing.

Times are changing woman can build computers these days.

You do know we have a chatroom much quicker than posting on here?

Good job, mon. Plus now you know if anything acts-up (hopefully not)
you can fix it yourself, too.
trouble is... once you get the "I can build it myself" bug-- you are all done.
You'll never buy another PC-- it's a good thing... and a bad thing all in one
Good to have the knowledge-- but you must watch the budget carefully.
It's easy to get too ambitious.
