Smile [Fixed] GA-K8VM800M new hard drive, no sound

I've just installed a new hard drive and got everything up and running ok, other than the sound. My motherboard is a gigabyte GA-K8VM800M with a built in sound card, someone mentioned that the sound might need enableing in BIOS, I'm a bit of a noob, so could someone give me some step by step instructions, because I havn't got a clue!

Thanks,
Matt

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Have you checked sound is not muted?

Reinstall your sound driver:GIGABYTE - Support - Motherboard - Driver - GA-K8VM800M (Rev 2.x)

If you fitted a new hard drive as a main drive then reinstalled windows then you may need most of the drivers listed in the link.

I hope this helps let me know how it goes?

Atleast with my gigabyte board the sound drivers (on a CD with the board usually) need to be installed before it works, I have an external sound card so I didn't need them anyway
