Smile [Resolved] Ethernet Controller
Hey guys!
I've got an old VIA motherboard. I suspect it's either a kt400a or a kt600, but I don't have any documentation on it.
I've found drivers on viaarena.com, and most of them have worked, but I have been unable to install the driver for the ethernet controller... It just says: "Installation complete" and closes, and the problem persists.

Anyone know where I can get a functional driver?

Hi there and welcome to PC Help Forum.
I suspect it's either a kt400a or a kt600, but I don't have any documentation on it.
Try using one of the tools here to see if you can pin down your motherboard/chipset model number: Your PC - Detailed Info - PC Help Forum - Free Computer Help, Windows, Hardware, Software and more!

It's a kt400a, with the vt8237 southbridge. But the driver on viaarena.com hasn't helped

Its a kt400a VIA.

Mel is now downloading drivers for her eithernet and south bridge.

Mel has been directed via links to VIA website and instructed on what drivers to download.

These drivers had to be downloaded on another machine and saved they were then transfered to USB flash drive to move drivers to the computer requiring drivers.
