Default computer not starting

I recently bought a new custom PC:

motherboard: ASUS P5VD2-VM SE
Memory: 2x 1Gb DDR2
Graphics: on board
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 3Ghz
OS disc: Windows XP professional
BIOS: AMI

I havent installed installed OS yet. When I first turned PC on to boot windows disc it let me format hard drive, then when it got to installing the OS the computer just restarted. Everytime I tried to install windows I just get a blue screen error, different everytime, or the computer just restarts. I never actually got to finish installing windows.

Now the computer doesnt even boot properly, When I switch the computer on the fans are spinning, the keyboard LEDs flash, the CD drive lights flash, the light on the front of the computer is lit up and the lights on the motherboard are lit up too. But nothing is displayed to the monitor, I've tested the monitor with my old PC and it works fine. First the monitor says there is no signal then just goes to standby after a few seconds.

Every once in a while I get the POST up, but then the computer restarts again showing no signal on the monitor. I've reset the BIOS using the motherboard manual but I still have the same problem.

I also recently bought a PCI POST test card, put it in and get the code d4E6. Which apparently means the problem occurred at "Uncompressed Runtime code", and I have no clue what that means. Isit a problem with the CPU or motherboard?

what should I do? Can anyone help?

Hi and welcome to PCHF

Do you remember what the errors on the BSODs were?

Have you double checked to make sure all components are installed correctly? Especially the HD(s) and the CPU and that the CPU has it's heatsink seated properly on it and that there's thermal paste and all?
