Default ASUS Maximus Extreme

Hey there,

Im thinking of buying the ASUS Maximus Extreme motherboard, and i was just wondering if you can still use the board without using the included water cooling block. One day i eventually plan to use water cooling at some stage... but as things are at the moment i want to use the board with just the CPU fan.

Perhaps somebody could throw some light onto this subject... the case and CPU i will be getting are.. Coolermaster 1000 Cosmos and Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Socket 775 3GHz.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Joe

Default Re: ASUS Maximus Extreme

Hi Joe,I have been reading the reveiw on the board and I think reading about it it is not like a standard mainboard it is built for water cooling.Positions of CPU/slots/etc are diffent to a normal mainboard. So it looks like water cooling must be fitted.
