Default screenless

i push the power button, the computer starts, no error sound whatsoever. the monitor won't flash anything it stays black. there is a yellow light instead of the green one. every single cable is connected where it should. then after maybe a minute the computer shuts down by itself. i've got a 2 year old nephew who constantly push the power and reset buttons when i'm away. he has done it many times so maybe by playing with it he messed it up. my motherboard is ASUS P4800S. like i said every component seems to be workin fine. there wasn't no virus or anything before that. the computer was working fine and then one day it stopped working. now all it does is exactly what i've mentioned above.

can anyone help

Hi welcome to PCHF I would try reset the bios first via the jumper on the mainboard and see if the PC boots after the reset.

It's strange you don't get some beeping sound to indicate whats wrong. Also remove all cards and ram and reseat them in there original location incase it is a contacting problem

If the video is onboard the mainboard it will be a faulty mainboard or RAM try booting it with 1 stick of RAM and see if it boots if not remove that stick and fit the next one and see if it boots. If not faulty mainboard or possibly a PSU problem

can the power supply be considered faulty even if the computer starts with the green led on . and also i got another power supply with a fan on it that don't spin at all when the computer on. could that be the reason why i don't see anything on screen

So did you try another power supply with the same result but the fan is not spinning in the power supply? If so faulty mainboard.

Yes the mainboard light can work and the fans can spin with a faulty power supply.

Need to try Power Supply Unit first if it won't boot then the mainboard is fried
