Hey about 2 weeks ago my motherboard went out on me. i took it to the local computer repair shop to diagnose the problem and make sure that it was the motherboard. It did turn out to be the motherboard and they said i will need to but a new one. The only problem is, my computer is a gateway and it has a custom case which only a certain motherboard can fit its shape. That motherboard happens to be $200. should i pay the computer shop to buy the motherboard and install it? or should i but a new case + motherboard from them and put all of my insides from my gateway into the new case? would that be cheaper? and other good suggestions? i need a cheap solution please. oh and also my motherboard was only 14 months old and my warranty only covered 12. so now im worried that if i buy that motherboard again it will go out in a year and i wont have a warranty. someone please help!
You should get a new case and motherboard.BUT this way you need to reinstall windows.I'll help more if you give me your CPU info and memory. Also you can get parts a lot cheaper online than at a store.
