Angry Motherboard not booting up

Hey,

I have a GeForce 6100SM motherboard that i bought and i connected everything including the power wirefrom the on/off switch but when i press the power button my fanjust spins twice and stops.

The manual didn't have where to plug in the wires and i think i'm connecting it wrong but the board doesn't have any real info on it about that says Power SW or anything like that.

If anyone can help.

Thanks

Default Re: Motherboard not booting up

Hello Paraminman Welcome to PCHF

Here is a link to a manual - /ECSWebSite

Hopefully that will help you verify your connections.

If it continues to malfunction after you verify that all your connections are correct, do you have another power supply you can test with? It definitely sounds like a power issue. It might be that your CPU power isn't connected, you don't have enough power for your components, or your power supply is bad.

If all your connections are good, your components are seated correctly, you have a power supply with enough stable power, and your power supply is in fact good, then your motherboard is most likely defective.

Another thing to check is your thermal paste and make sure you have your motherboard set on risers. If you applied too much thermal paste, then your CPU will overheat pretty quickly. If you don't have anything separating your motherboard from your case, your motherboard will short out cause it is touching the metal on the case. The motherboard needs to be set on brass risers (typically).

Hope that helps!
