err, yes you do need to re-install the OS unless the motherboard is very very similar or identical.

Every Operating System since Windows NT, 2000, XP and Vista requires the OS to be re-installed after a motherboard is changed.

Well thats good to know.

So do I not really have to worry about having to get new hardware to fit with teh new Motherboard?

This is the exact one:
EVGA nForce 680i SE SLI (TR Version) Motherboard - NVIDIA, Socket 775, ATX, Audio, SLI Ready, PCI Express, Dual Gigabit LAN, SPDIF, USB 2.0 & Firewire, Serial ATA, RAID 122-CK-NF63-TR at TigerDirect.com

I posted all teh hardware I knew earlier in teh thread.

If im missing anything I have siw. Hopefully Ill find it there.

That's a nice board.

I can tell much about your current hardware already. Your power supply is definately ample for this upgrade. If you have a Intel Pentium D, then your current motherboard is likely to be a socket 775. If so, this CPU (if you wanted to) will also work in your new EVGA motherboard, so will the rest of your hardware. The only one thing remaining you should check is your RAM.

From SIW, go to Hardware, followed by Memory. Look under the category of speed, which should be between 533 and 800MHz.

not all computers report MEM CLOCK to SIW. if not, download a program called "lavalys everest home" and look under motherboard.
