Default When buying a new motherboard...

Ok so I plan on purchasing a new motherboard in the near future.

I want to get a board that is completely comapatable with EVERYTHING I allready have.

How do I know if im getting this?

Which pieces of hardware do I need to pay attention to?

Here are come of the things you will have to consider
  • Form factor, what will fit in your case? ATX? Micro ATX?
  • Processor socket and FSB
  • Ram type and speed
  • Graphics card slot.
  • Interfaces, SATA or IDE?

Hope this helps.

Hi If you go here Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit and do an audit on your PC it will tell us your existing hardware then we will be able to workout what mainboard to get. Post the results back here

C:\Program Files\Belarc\Advisor\System\tmp\(Henrehrofl-pc).html

Those are the results!

As far as mobos go, i'd like something resonably good.

I also need it to have SLI capabilities.

Your link to the results does not work

You are planning on putting this in a Dell computer case ?? Not likely
Off-the-shelf PC makers don't allow for these things-- I know-- I found out the hard way myself. Maybe Dell has changed since then-- but I doubt it.

A mobo that is SLI-ready... AND will accept all your other current parts is also going to be very tough. Changing a Mobo is almost never that easy. These are systems... not just parts-- everything you install has to work with everything else-- or it won't even boot
