Default [Resolved] Need USB help please!

First off let me say that this forum is awesome, I have already found a bunch of good info here.

Unfortunately Im having a bit of a USB issue. Here is the story. I bought a brand new eDimensional Audio FX gaming headset from Newegg.com. I brought it home, plugged it into my computer, and I got sound, but no vibration. The headset has 3 jacks. One for mic, one for headphones, and the USB to power the vibration. So everything worked fine, except I got no vibration. So i tried all the different USB port on my computer, and still no worky. Every other USB device, has worked on my computer. Flash drives, Ipods, other USb headsets, Zune, flash drives, you name it, it worked. So ofcourse I just figured I got a defective unit. Just out of curiousity, I decided to try it on my new dell laptop, and to my surprise, it worked fine, Vibration and everything, so i went and tried it on multiple other computers in my house, and they still worked fine. Keep in mind this headset does not use any drivers, and is just plug and play. The computer it is not working on is fairly new, I just built it about six months ago, and I will post full specs on it below. I have tried everything I can think of, and the problem is still here. Things i have tried: Tested it on every usb port in the system, even hooked up a set of front usb jacks to my motherboard, still didnt work. Updated system to date with windows update. Installed latest BIOS for my motherboard. Cleaned all usb ports, and tried again. Unplugged all the other USB devices, left the headset in, still didnt work. The one thing I have not been able to do, is update my usb drivers, I cannot find the right drivers for the life of me. Its an Intel ICH8 family USB controller, along with ICH8 Family USB2 enhanced host controller. They are high speed, USB 2.0 ports. I have contacted edimensional tech support, and they have not gotten back to me.

Here are my system specs:
Operating System: Windows XP home SP2B
Processor : Intel Core2Duo E6400 2.13ghz
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-965P -DS3, rev 1.0
Ram: 1GB Corsair XMS2 PC6400 DDR2 800MHZ dual channel
Sound: Integrated Realtek High Definition, 8 channel audio.
Video: Leadtek P6600TD PCI-e 256mb
Power Supply Unit: Antec SmartPower 500w
HDD:WD 250GB sata HD, 7200 RPM

Any and all help will be much appreciated, I am completely lost as to what else the problem could be. If you guys need anymore information, about my computer, or anything else, feel free to ask.

Thanks!!!

Hmmm...that's strange. Welcome to the PCHF

I'd first try updating the drivers for your motherboard...then ensure Windows is 100% up to date.

Windows is 100% up to date, and the latest chipset driver for my motherboard is installed. However, the USB drivers still seem to be old, from like 2004, and I can't find updated ones... anywhere. Gigabytes webpage is not very helpful at all.

i know how you feel

However, find out what chipset you have...and goto nVIDIA Geforce 8800 8600 7950 7900 7600 GT GTX AMD ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT x1950 x1900 2400 2600 XT Pro - Guru of 3D: PC Hardware Reviews and download the drivers from there.
Just because Gigabyte say you have a certain version, doesn't mean they're the latest
