Are you running 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) on your computer? Whichever one you have could possibly limit you RAM-upgrading ability.

Edit: According to my research on your motherboard, you're limited to 2GB in total, which will be detected, and limited to 512mb per slot. If you want to upgrade memory, you'll have to upgrade your motherboard as well and possibly get a whole new hardware array.

Hi guys, this motherboard only supports a maximum of 2gb of DDR2 memory.

Skenny, first - welcome to PHCF
Second, Asus are great boards...nice and reliable. However, that does limit your choices and prices.

If you're looking at upping your memory capacity, you might need to look at other brand boards, MSI, Gigabyte, Abit - all quality boards - at the same level as Asus.

Best bet is to research each board that meets your memory requirements, and ensure that it can do what you want to do with it. Can support your CPU, has the required amount of spots for hard drives and cd/dvd drives.

The way I always get info about the motherboard, is find all in the price range that I'm looking for, and then go to the different motherboard manufacturers, and get all the technical information of those. These pages will have everything about the board - what CPU/RAM it supports, how many onboard NICs, what type of sound card, etc etc.
