Samsung 20X DVD+R DVD Burner PATA Model SH-202G
Windows Vista 64 Bit Home Premium.
I have assembled all of the components and set the BIOS settings. The problem starts when I try and install Vista. The system boots up to the initial screen just fine and completes the "Windows is loading files..." screen. The Miscrosoft Corporation screen comes up with the progress bar. Then the screen goes blank and a mouse pointer shows for approximately 12 seconds. Then unexpectedly the computer reboots and starts the process over again. I get no errors, no beeps from the BIOS, nothing.
I know that this motherboard appears to be very picky with the SATA setup. I have the OnChip SATA Type set to "Native IDE" in the BIOS and have tried "Legacy IDE" both with no luck.
Any ideas what might cause this?
There's no SATA setting in the chip ?? IDE is the old standard-- this maybe a chip to make your
mobo "backward" compatible-- so you can run IDE drives. Can you turn it off ?
I will be back later/do more research...
