Question [Answered] Info on this motherboard

My sister just bought a new computer and is considering getting it a video card.

I have no clue what slots this mother board has.

The info that i have on it is:

MCP61M-AM-6A61KE11C-00

I have noted that the computer has "nVidia GeForce6150se nForce430". I was told that this is integrated graphics.

The computer is an Acer Aspire e380 4800+ (2.50ghz).

*im crossing my fingers that it has PCI Express, maybe even AGP8x, just not PCI*
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

also, would you please provide me with the "proof" of the slot, im just a curiuos guy.

Thank you in advanced,

Yuscu2

Hello Yuscu,

Packard Bell PC? Yep, this motherboard is definately PCI-Express.

The only thing you need to worry about when purchasing your new graphics card is power.

We are considering getting a "ATI Radeon X1650 512MB"

would 500~600watts be enough to power it?

Yep, that will easily cover an X1650.

Get yourself a good quality power-supply too-- important in gaming.
Watts rating is not the only consideration.
There are 500watts and 500WATTS ...quality of the components is the difference. Be sure to check physical dimensions on the maker's website-- they are supposed to be standarized-- but sometimes there are minor variations.

well, we arent going to be doing major gaming

its just nice to be able to play a decent game every now and then on it, but i do understand what you mean by "good quality", because i see these $24 500watt power supplies on ebay, and it just seems supicious

thanks guys =)
