Default [Answered] HELP! Mother Board and Processor Error

First off i just wanted to say iam new here to this place and hi to all. Well here goes it. I have the Asus P5NSLI Motherboard. I have always had a Pentium D 2.66 533 fsb. I recently bought an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 4 Mb L2 Cache 1333fsb and went to install it. I had then realized that my motherboard only supports 1066 fsb. I for one cant belive i missed that and two and a little worried. I started the pc up with the core 2 in it and i had no video. I have the Nvidia 7600 GT graphics card and it was all installed correctly and cables pluged in. I reinstalled the Pentium D and it does the same thing now. Anyone Have Any Ideas???

How on earth did you manage that without video?

There has been a lot of CPU updates since the original BIOS release for that motherboard.

However, I can't see that motherboard physically supporting 1333, but the processor will still work as long as it is included within that BIOS update. The CPU will operate at 1066 instead of 1333. Think of it as underclocking, your CPU should be lovely and cool!!
