Default I think i found why my RAID keeps screwing up

My nForce 4 onboard SATA RAID controller sometimes fails to detect anything and my PC fails to boot alltogether, and ive been experiencing some crashes as well or drives suddenly getting dismounted. Sometimes, like now, no matter how many times i reboot or coldboot it it wont boot, and if it does it locks up again after a few minutes. It also tends to stop booting and lock up rught after it lists all the devices, not the first POST screen but in a seperate box there is a summary of the hardware. Ive already tried disconnecting any USB devices and disabling anything I dont use in the BIOS like the serial ports and the IDE controller. When it locked up again at boot I noticed something that may be the cause of this all, the RAID controller and my display adapter are on the same IRQ. I wouldve put the display in another slot but I only have one suitable PCI-e slot on my board, I went to the BIOS to try and do something with the IRQs but I couldnt find any options. How do I fix this? Its an Asus A8N-e.

G'day Ge64,

You might try updating your bios. I see there has been a spat of updates since version 1001. The latest is version 1013.

Good hunting...

At boot it already shows 1013...

I think it may just be my windows installation after all because when I check Device Manager it shows 18 and 21 instead of 5 and 5 as IRQs for the display and RAID controllers...
