Default [Answered] 3 pin socket won't connect to 4 pin

I have an Asus M2N mobo with a 4 pin CPU cooling fan connector. But my Noctua NH-U12F fan has a socket for just 3 pins. I can power the fan by plugging into the power fan connector, but every time I boot, the BIOS waits for me to press F1 to acknowledge the missing CPU fan. I can't find any way to disable it in the BIOS (and probably wouldn't want to do so in the long term anyway). I looked for a 3-4 pin converter but found none on a couple of websites. Ideas warmly welcomed !

Hello eugeneg,

I personally think your best of simply purchasing a fan that already has a 3pin connector, since the motherboard is trying to control the speed of the fan based on the CPU temperature.

EDIT: Marked as answered.
