Default Need serious help

Hey i need some serious help. Ive posted on here before but got no help cuz no one likes to reply. Anyways i got a new mobo and i have everything pluged in right IM SURE OF IT. But the pc wont boot, but heres a twist if i plug in the cd drive to the mobo the cd drive wont start, but if i unplug the belt then it will turn on and i can eject the cd tray. Now i dont know if that can narrow it down or not. But the power switch works and if i push it in for a few secs it will power it off. Which is the most progress ive made since ive inserted this new mobo cuz my last one wouldnt power off like that after it quit working. So please help me ive wasted so much money on this and im about to just give up and take a hammer to it. The mobo and the fans and the HD powers on but theres no post.

Well that's gonna get people flocking to help you isn't it?

First thing to try is another IDE cable or "belt" as you called it. Then try to start the PC with the absolute minimum number of peripherals and components plugged into the board.

Ya i know man, Im just really frustrated, i only wrote that because of one of my past posts. Im sorry lol

Anyways i tried the IDE that i had before and I tried my new one and it does the same thing. Ive tried starting it with nothing but one stick of ram and and the main plug, still nothing. I just got this mobo today cuz the last one i had, had a short in it so i sent it back. My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-M57sli-S4 my cpu is brand new too. But i didnt have any thermal paste so just scraped all of the paste off my last heat sync and cpu and applied to my new one u think that has something to do with it? Ive also tried 2 diff Video cards. But theres no beeps or anything. The whole IDE thing is not makeing any sense to me at all.

Are you getting to the bios? Did you remove the bios battery/replace it and/or clear the cmos via the onboard jumper?

Just make sure you remove the power cable as well as the battery and leave it for a couple of minutes
