Default booting up problems with asrock 775 dual vista and the 775 dual core

i have a wierd problem concerning 2 types of motherboards the asrock 775 dual vista and the 775 dual core (running in this pc at mo),
i have built a number of pc's but never come across anything like this before and its happening with both motherboards. at boot up i get no beeps or bios just a black screen and in order for windows xp to boot up i need to clear my cmos by putting a jumper on the pins every time then it goes into windows and works well untill next reboot then does it again (no beeps or bios) and i have to do this every time i want to use the pc. its all brand new kit ive put in and its all working, all drivers for all pci cards and graphics card are installed and appear to be working fine. i have read the user maual and theres no hint to what could be causing this black screen thing at start up and ive looked at the cmos settings but cant find anything to put it right. im booting from hard drive first then dvd rom then floppy. i have not loaded raid drivers as ive never had to before with any pc inc this one and my 150 gb sata has always worked and detected fine and is reconised too.
after i reset cmos, it boots shows graphics card is in and working then says something about cmos checksum error ,cmos date and time not set which ive also tried setting several times and it still does it and also says push f1 to load setup defaults and continue then it boots up fine (after pushing f1 key) but when i reboot it does it again. im on the verege of giving up on these motherboards totaly as it did it with my other motherboard too (similar motherboard 775 dual vista) any suggestions you could give me to remody this problem would be great as i can't keep doing this everytime i want to use pc. thanks adam

Hey Pulse,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of very talented techs, and I am sure we can help you figure this out. But let's get this thread moved to a more appropriate forum. I'm moving you into the MOBO forum in Hardware.

My first inclination, although really simplistic, is have you changed the CMOS battery? It seems like sometimes it's the little things that confound us the most.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
