So earlier today I got the last part for my pc, installed linux and everything was going good. I shut down linux and when I tried to turn the computer back on, Nothing will display on screen. I do not know if this problem is with the RAM or with the mobo.
i think that it might be with the RAM because the pc now acts like it did before I installed the RAM (Ex. DVD drive is constantly trying to find a disc, hard drive turns on but doesn't start reading, monitor does not even act like it is getting anything from the pc). I think that it might be the mobo though because so far I have been using onboard graphics (till I get windows, I have a video card to use then) and now when I turn the pc on the monitor displays nothing. Here's some facts about my monitor, it is an old CRT, there is an LED for every type of way to change the picture, when the monitor is not displaying anything but is hooked up to a pc, it is supposed to cycle through all the lights continuisly, but now it just sits at the very end LED (which means that it is on but not connected to a pc). When I turn the pc on, it just sits at the end LED and does not do anything. I know that the monitor is still good because I plugged it into my laptop and used it and it works perfectly. Any help would be GREAT. This is my first pc build and I do not want to have to go through the whole RMA process on newegg.com. Thanks for your help.
