Exclamation Intel(R) PRO 100 VE LAN on Intel 945 GNT

I dont know why i am the one with the most peculiar of problems...i have a Huawei MT882 ADSL modem which can be connected to the the PC via LAN or USB...as of now am using USB...i used LAN before but it created a problem after some months of use so i started using the USB...but now i need to connect thorugh LAN

The problem now is that it refuses to connect through LAN...it just shows "Dialing.." and gives error 678 the remote computer did not respond!

I called my ISP guy...he checked the modem it was fine...he plugged the LAN cord in his laptop it connected...but it dint connect in mine.

Believeing that nothing is wrong with my LAN card i changed the LAN cable and did many other things possible...but to no avail...as for the settings they are exact same as i use to for my USB thing and am 99% sure they are right.

Is my LAN card not workig? but i can ping myself :S...should i try somethign else?..please help urgent help needed

Hi, is the LAN card set to DHCP and auto DNS? Also, if you do a ipconfig /all what IP address is currently allocated to your PC?

My ISP provides a dynamic ip
wen i type ipconfig /all the ip i have given is 192.168.1.10 and my ISP ip is 59.XX.211.XXX but the latter ip changes everytime i reconnect

Ok, it looks like your modem is giving you an IP address as that address denotes a "local" IP. Don't worry about the ISP IP address at the moment.

Ok, do you have access to the modem (Administration screens)?
