Hey Justin,

Sorry man, they really do die after a while. It's time to send this MOBO to the cases in the sky.

Keep us up to date on what you decide to get. We'll look forward to seeing you in the forums.

Hey Justin,

That's not a dumb question at all, in fact I'll bet lots of people misinterpret hardware vs. software issues.

The term "virus", is a bit misleading, it makes us think of something intrusive, which it is, but it is attacking settings and files within the software environment of your PC. It does not have the power to actually attack your hardware. What can happen is that settings can be altered that can result in damaged hardware, but the virus cannot exist on the hardware environment of your PC the way a real life virus can exist in your body tissue.

It is possible to improperly wipe a HDD so that a virus is not removed, but the MOBO is not something that would be affected.

Hope that answers your question, looking forward to your reply.

Hey Justin,

I think we do a really good job trying to help people from all kinds of computer knowledge, and we LOVE questions. I'm really glad to hear that your experience has been positive and helpful. Please make sure to recommend us to your friends and family.

BTW, did you know that there is a spell checker function on the posts? Make sure that you are in Advanced mode, and click on the ABC icon in the upper right corner, it will install a webbased spell checker. (I type too fast and make typos all the time, not to mention my spelling leaves something to be desired, it's my best friend, lol).
